Cultivating Evergreen Talent in the Workforce
Did you ever ask yourself why many employees work longer periods than others, what makes workers work hard for companies and why many institutions end up hiring every day? Here, I will be summarizing this book- Evergreen Talent by Mrs. Roberta. The book is all about cultivating talent in the workplace and retaining talented employees within the workforce. I read this information from MentorBox.com. Joining this online learning platform was the right decision ever took. This has changed my mindset about employees and employers. Mrs. Roberta explained very true points that I have personally experienced.
Here is the Summary of What I have Learnt
Within the book, the author has discussed the importance of leading employees toward their willingness for job satisfaction, career development, and mentorship programs, too. Employees are like trees, they should care for after they have been planted. Like trees need sunlight, employees need a healthy and flexible psychological workplace that accepts sharing and exchanging ideas. It’s difficult and time-consuming to replace talented employees so show them your regard.
Promotions
When promoting employees, make sure to talk to the employee and discuss it with him. Ask him or her if they are happy about the promotion. If you do not ask them, you might promote someone who is not willing to stay with you and work under your company. Think very deeply before promotion.
Dismissal of Employee
When you lay off employees, make sure the layoff is transparent. This is important because, in this technological emergent world, employees are sharing everything on social media so make sure your company is well said in those sharing platforms.
If you are forced to lay off employees, always show your best to terminate or lay off workers with as much transparency as possible. After employees are terminated, it is very important to help employees land another new position by offering your connections and resources. This means that you are offering your help when you even see them leaving your company which is in turn one of the positive characteristics of majestic leaders.
Make sure your organization help workers reach their own goals. Employees expect their organizations and leaders to believe in them and invest in their growth. The people you want for you have the same dreams, wishes, and goals you have as a company.
Educating Employees
Offer your employees online learning programs to catapult their continued education. Consider their ways of learning. Different people learn differently and not all people learn the same, which means one size does not fit all. If you are to offer developmental programs to employees, make sure you offer the opportunity to everyone in the company. This will attract employees and help you as a company retain them and stick around.
One way to attract employees is to send those videos and updates from the office or even personalized messages from company leadership. This will make employees feel conformable and that they are part of the company. If problems arise, try to share the problem with them and have it resolved simply.
Be a majestic leader: these kinds of leaders are honest, respectful, and helpful as well. They do not hide things they are always transparent and wonderful. ” Majestic leaders are authentic, transparent and caring”- Roberta
Final Remarks
Treat others the same way you would want to be treated yourself
